It is so important to provide opportunities for your learners to explore what they are reading in greater depth, by complimenting this with rich and meaningful activities, such as keeping a journal of texts read, creating blogs, vlogs or book trailers and using expressive arts delve deeper into what they are reading.
Scottish Book Trust has many resources that can be used to help create opportunities for learners to respond to what they are reading, such as:
- How to make a mini book: This quick and easy activity is a fantastic way to encourage children to write and illustrate their own stories or poetry. The resource includes a template and video to discover how to create a mini book from one sheet of A4 paper.
